Skid plates, anyone have a source for them?

When I got my bike, I didnt have a skidplate on it, and considering the kind of riding, and general treatment I'll probably give the bike, its an absolutely vital piece.

anyone have a source where I can find one to fit my 84? or would I be better off having my friend fab one up for me with his little metal shop?

CRD Bashplate for the XT600

Thanks. those are in europe, but look pretty good. I just wish I could see how far back those extend, since I want protection from end to end on my engine ideally.

very little will ruin your ride like bashing a rock through an engine case I think.

I have a CRD bash plate. Take a look at my thread on new to xt600's for the pics, they do go end to end, cracked it a few times on rocks with little damage to it. Polishes up great too!

Hey Bob, if the USA is anything like Australia with regard to the XT600 (and I think it is), then you probably won't have too much local choice for parts. It seems like the UK and Germany are the place to head for hard to get bits. Sucky, but at least I can get them for a 20yo bike.

Yep, I'm beginning to see that. I'm just going to have my buddy fab one up here, if it works well, I may consider making more than a few of them and offering them on the US market.
