Shock Suppliers - Opinions

Hi,

After doing some searching, it looks like there's a few companies with shocks available for the XT.

Does anyone have any experiences with the following companies? Anyone I should avoid at all costs?

Hagon
Hyperpro
Biturbo
Wilbers
WP

It seems I read somewhere that Hagon/Hyperpro/Wilbers are all made by the same company, is that true? Trying not to break my budget, so which one do you think will have the cheaper shock?

Thanks,

--JOsh

Wp

I checked out WP vs Wilber vs Hyperpro 3 months ago, and from the quotes I had the cheapest by far was WP.

I found a small 2 man company fitting them to suit bike load and biker weight. I have booked with them on the 17 th of April.

According to my teacher on my adv. motorcycle mechanics course, WP is a VERY good brand and seems to be a good choice for off-road.
The garage link is on my website, quote as £398, including fitting. I may need to fit progressive springs to rebalance the bike. Wilber was much more, especially if including adustment stuff (cant remember details), but came near £600....

I will put all details and photos in my Journal once the job is done, if interested.

Cheers,

I am also looking for a replacment shock but £400 ! ouch !

my shock is still new with only 2000 road miles on it but i hate the lack of adjustment, especially as im fitting a harder spring.. things could get real boucey.

Question !! Do these replacement shocks have adjustable damping ?? Ta

Most should! Wilber's for example, find email (extract ) I had for it:
"A fully adjustable Wilbers for your bike will be £445 + P&P if you want ride height this is an additional £70, Hydraulic Pre-Load is an additional £145. we also offer a full fitting service should you require it." $$$$$$$$$!

For the WP (ex White power) I've booked with WP Suspension UK - we sell front forks, rear shock absorbers, steering dampers for road and race and offroad motorcycles

They will respring it to adjust to the load of my bike.
Take into account prices quoted are for my F650GS, so may be different for your XT.
My shock is also new (2004!) but I'll sell it.

Ted, When are you off? I'm just arranging booking of the air freight for our bikes! I'll put photos and details in my website.
cheers,
