Screen for an XT600E?
 

I'd like to fit a short screen to my 03 600E.
The ideal scenario would be a complete new plastic shroud around the headlamp with a screen built on to it.
However, nothing like this seems to exist. After much searching I've found a bolt on Secdem screen on the Net, but their website is all in French and makes no sense to me.
I e-mailled them in the hope that an English speaking employee could help me, but I've heard nothing.
So can any of you suggest any alternative English speaking suppliers?
I don't want to fit one of those generic handlebar mounted screens, I need something that can attach to, or replace, the original assembly.

I remember pictures of a fairing in a KTM adventure fashion, for yamahas, made by a dutch company.

Oops, they don´t have pics of the fairing on a XTE, don´t know if it´s compatible.

Have you considered making one? There's some impact plastic called macralon used for machine guards. I wonder if it would be sufficient for a _small_ screen? Just bend it round slightly.

I made my own screen from a perspex type material - I think it was Merkalon but I may be wrong. I went looking in a boat yard, on the basis that they will be used to repairing windows on small boats, and got an off cut for £5. You can bend it with a heat gun (the sort used for stripping paint etc) but you need to put the heat in slowly so you warm the sheet right through. If you heat too fast you will soften the surface and can put smear marks on it, while the centre will still be too hard to let you bend it. When you get it right it bends like toffee - just practice on a small piece and you'll get the idea. Then fasten it to the plastic above your head lamp and support it from your handlebars. Watch when cutting as you can easily crack your masterpiece.Not as pretty as a bought item, but it works.

I found an old bolt-on screen for mopeds - the one with the two metal vertical bars that hold the screen upright. I drove all the way round South Africa until it eventually broke when I head butted it jumping over barrels - don't ask!
Looked mighty ugly but kept the wind off to the point where I could smoke a fag and tap the ash into an ashtray (beer mug tied to handlebars) while doing 50!
