Screen for 4PT

Does anyone have any experience with touring screens for a XT600e. I see Kedo make one. Anyone else make one or have experience of this one?

Thanks, Finian

Hi Finian,

I have an Ermax screen fitted to my 3AJ Tenere, and I believe they also supply for your model.
See the following link for contact details:

I believe the person there was Neil (?), and he was very helpful.

Ciao, Geoff

I've banned the screen of my XTZ660. Without it it's much more comfortable and much more silent, no more turbulence around the helmet. Helmets are made to be silent in straight wind. I'd say, just keep the wind pressure off your chest but keep your helmet in the wind.

Interesting point Fred. I have found that Kedo do two different screens at the following link:

http://www.kedo.de/pp/pdf/katalog/238.pdf

One at 23.5 cm and one at 31.5 cm high. The Ermax one is only 15cm high I believe. The highest one would probably keep most of me behind the screen whereas the lower would leave my head sticking out. Anyone else able to recommend what to go for?

Thanks, Finian

i had a small acerbis screen on my 1VJ until it fell off the bike through repeated falls/cracks/etc, but while it lasted it was great! it wasn't very big - certainly no higher than 30cm, but it did a good job of channelling the air flow over my head and made cruising in an upright position much more comfortable.

i never actually looked through the screen, so it didn't need to be clear (though mine was), but the one feature that made the most difference was a little "lip" along the top which helped "scoop" the wind over my head and away from my torso.

a very useful little addition to your bike if you are going to be on it for long stretches, it really does take a lot of the wind resistance off your upper body.

good luck!

I know someone who jumped off the bike on the wrong side and in an alternative accidental way and damaged himself on the screen. That's another reason why I don't have one anymore.
