Well, the TT600R basically uses the same engine as the XT600.
On my XT, according to the factory tacho redline starts at 7000rpm.
Hope this helps.
Dan.

I think it is easy to fit a rev counter drive from an XT motor on to your TTR you then need the rev counter cable and rev counter not sure if all Yamaha rev counters have the same ratio or if you have to use a XT rev counter.
The parts you need often turn up on e-bay.
There are rev counters that attach to the HT lead not sure if this is a good idea with the TTR as mine wont start with lights on or even just brake light so if the rev counter draws any power from the plug you may have starting problems.
Has any one fitted an electric rev counter to a TTR and what was the out come?

hi thanks for replys the bike computer i have fitted is a trailtech it is a electronic speedo and rev counter plus many more functions ie: trip, max revs and speed on journey, air temp etc. it is easy to fit you change a disk bolt for a magnetic one and fix a sensor to your caliper for the speedo, for the rev counter you wrap a wire around the ht lead and it takes the electronic pulses.
