RPM meter cable, oil leak...

Hi guys
I have an xt 600 E year 2000. The cable for the rpm meter broke and i got a new one (original). Surprisingly it came without the O ring. I have tried several sizes and i just cant find the right one, i keep on getting an oil leak.
Does anyone know the exact measures for this O ring. I am in the middle of a south america trip and there is no yamaha dealer where I am.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
juan

O-ring

The O-ring that is installed on the cable itself does not do more than keeping dust out. If there is a leak from the head at that location, it is probably the seal that can be reached by removing the unit that transfers the rotation to the cable from the head. Or, it is the O-ring that seals the unit against the cilinder head.
For correct sizing of O-rings, just bring the part that it should fit on to the O-ring shop around the corner :-).

As a quick fix, try to install the parts I just mentioned (except for the shaft seal) with instant gasket. Use as much as is necessary and let harden for a good time.
