Road wheels for XT Tenere
 

Evening all - this is my first post on this site. I have just bought myself a 1987 XT 600 Tenere to have a bit of fun on and a bit of restoration practice. Using my other bike (CBR600RR) feels like riding a mini moto after getting off the XT. What a hoot though!!

Just wondering if there are any existing road wheels on the market that can be fitted in place of the originals. As the bike has drum rear bike I am limited to a smaller choice I think. Have been looking at Honda CB250 RS wheels but am not sure if they will fit. Dont mind fabricating spacers bit wondered if any one has tried this converstion before or if there are other wheels that will fit straight on either with or without a bit of adjustment.

Hi,
It is a popular mod to keep the centers and use 17" rims with soft street tyres. It feels like riding a new bike.
However this mod brings to the surface known xt issues like the really soft suspensions,flexible forks and weak brakes that take lots of cash to fix.

Edit:I have seen an xt600 with fzr 400 whells but idk if that is a bolt on mod.
