Replacing exhaust-bracket question??

Hi folks
I have a Laser silencer taken from my old Transalp which I am trying to get fitted on my XT. I need to get a connector pipe made up, but my question is as the original exhaust is also some kind of frame brace - I guess I need to also mount a bracket to brace the frame, so where can I get one from? When you buy an aftermarket exhaust are they supplied as part of the kit?

Do any of you people who have aftermarket exhausts have any advice or pictures of your set up?

Any info or advice much appreciated.
Cheers.

exhaust/frame brace

Check this site and look for CRD Rahmenstütze which is for XT/TT600 actually. Don't know whether will fit your frame. Cheers, tom.

Bracket came with exhaust

Hi,

When I purchased a Laser Produro exhaust system for my girlfriends 1991 XT600E I receives the silencer, a mid section and a frame brace.

As you righty suggest, the silencer was used to brace the frame for a few years, then hey stopped this odd practice.

It might be worth asking Laser if they will sell you a brace on it's own.

Good luck,
Mark

Thanks for the replies fellas.
I had thought about contacting Laser to see if I could get one but I couldn`t find any way to contact them via their website - they didn`t seem to have a "contact us" section??? Any ideas???

Frame brace availability

A mate of mine is busy fettling one of these strange beasts with the exhaust acting as part of the frame, but would like to run a non standard silencer. Anyone know where we can source the frame brace: the Austrian link in this old thread says that the CRD part is no longer available.
