rear rack for 1VJ

I am looking for a rear rack for a 1986 1VJ. If anybody has one laying about or is selling one, please let me know how much you would like for it.

or

If anybody wouldn't mind taking a few photographs of the rear rack on their bike from different angles showing design and mountings, I could fabricate one for myself.

Thanks in advance.

where are you???

I have a 1vj with a fairly solid rack, in manchester.

I can certainly take photo's, but will take a couple of days to get a digital camera.

jim

PS Does yours have a washer half showing between the block and the gearbox?? I have, and was going to take it out, until I saw others at the HUBB do with one fitted!

I think you'll find the "half-washer sticking out" is no more than the edge of the base gasket.

The other guys may well have been a gasket. Mine is absolutely a washer (you can see part of the inner hole).

It must have been put there by dave of lambeth, so I presume there is some logic, but I'm bu99ered if I can work out what it is!

ta,

jim

I am in Hertfordshire, I would appreciate you taking some photos when you have the time. Photos can be sent to me at skylark_za(AT)yahoo.com (You will have to replace (AT) with @)

As for your washer dilemma, take a photo of it and I will have a look at mine, as my bike too was rebuilt by Dave.

Thanks

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
