Wanted: TT600RE rear wheel or hub

Hi there,

i want to put an TTRE rear wheel in my TTR. The RE has a shock absorber in the hub. It saves chain & sprockets i think..

I have both TTR and TTRE's, I don't think you will notice a difference in the chain life as long as you don't ride too aggressively. The TTRE gearbox has slightly different ratios to the TTR and the chainset reflects this (15/44 vs 15/47). The rims on the TTRE are san remo vs tagasako on the TTR. So, on the whole I would stick to the standard set up, use original sprockets and the best chain you can get (people recommend DID VM). Remember to keep an eye on the sliders on the swingarm and chain guide and replace when worn.

Only if you gear down on rear sprocket size to gain top end speed and sit in top gear at lowish speeds. Then maybe.... I broke a chain that way on a '86 TT much to my horror as it ate it's way into the crank casing. But I suspect these shock pads if they are the same as those found on the XT variants has more to do with bearing longevity. Motor and wheel hub rather than chain and sprocket.

From what I was told if you have a wheel with no cush drive and run a Knobbley tyre then the knobbles act a a cushion. I wanted 17" wheels and was also told I should use a cush drive I have a 17" with no cush drive and every thing has been ok as I lube chain regular ( Did snap my first chain I blame bad maintance rather then no cush drive)
Some KTM wheels with cush drive can be adapted to fit the TTR need diferent spacers not sure which model KTM

(got some last minute did-i-choose-the-right-bike anxiety i'm affraid....
5 weeks to bike shipment, 7 weeks to 1st june)
