Think I read somewhere the jetting is different between the XT600 and the TT600, but yes, they both have the same YDIS carbs

Oh... wish I could see a picture of those carbs.....
They're maybe from a raptor? :P or maybe ones from the kawasaki ex250?

I'm doing pretty good with my non standard raptor carbs, just need to turn the fuel screws 1 turn in to lean it slightly now :P possibly change the needle shims to see if it gets even better..

Panterg: hope you solve your issue with the carbs..

Thanks for the comments - just been to the mechanics , the carb (teiki) looks identical to the ones I've received from LINZI , the mechanic can't set the float height -it keeps overflowing , so he's going to "cannibalise" LINZI's carbs , fingers crossed ! He's back on it next week , Cheers Glenn

Jets.

Howdie, if mechanic finds, as I was told, that the jets in my old carbs are for a high flow air filter and you aren't going to fit such a filter, can you possibly post back the jets? My replacement carbs, from e-bay.de, have the standard jets which will make starting even harder than it is now. My life is more than complicated at the moment! Lindsay.

Hi Lindsay ,
Will give you a call when I've spoken to the mechanic - probably Tuesday or Wednesday , by the way I've got a DNA Filter and Leo Vinci Exhaust fitted .
Regards
Glenn

I too have a leo Vance exhaust fitted to my ttr 600e,standard carb and jetting and was looking for an aftermarket air filter..Does the DNA make any difference?..where dya get it from?..

Linzi 25 Jun 2012 11:02

OK.

OK, forget it, as you'll need the jets youself but it would be great to know what jets were in the broken carb so that I can buy replacements. Thanks, Lindsay. ps, I think the price of £0,00 was about right, no?

Nikroc , Don't know yet as I have'nt got the bike running properly - will let you know when I get it back and I'll have a look through my receipts for the contact details for the DNA Filter suppliers .

Glenn

OK thanks.

Hi Glenn, thanks very much. You are fortunate to have a mechanic to assist. I had a hard time putting the replacement carbs into the bike. It is extremely fiddly getting the o-rings for the inlet rubbers to remain in place while muscling with the ungainly carbs and the subrame still attached by the wiring loom pushing back stubbornly. Then resorting to putting the jubilee clips on afterwards.
Good mechanics are really good value. Now there's still the problem of getting the throttle to snap closed again instead of sticking open. The bikes not started yet. The cables are free moving but something in the carbs is not free moving. Also the large carb opens before the little one. This can't surely be right. My good local garage has Mondays off so I'll call him tomorrow and ask him to balance the carbs and wave his magic wand. Then it's over to Dieppe in France and see if the garage there wants to buy the bike and at a more than the depressed UK market price. I simply can't live with a kick start with a weakened right ankle plus I'm really short of money and will stick with restoring my Guzzi. It's got a lovely electric start. Yummy. Lindsay.

Hi Lindsay ,
Sorry to hear that - if you want to replace the jets , let me know how much and I'll paypal you . Good luck with the sale - parlez vous francais ?
Nikroc ,
I bought the DNA Air Filter from Motorcycle Exhausts | Performance Parts | BR Special Tuning - It was the cheapest I could find ,
Cheers
Glenn
