Part Needed for 1VJ

Does anyone know where I can get the following part for a 1VJ Tenere - 2RW174020000 - I am not sure of its exact name but it is the main bolt that the gears attach to and that the front sprocket attaches to. I need it fairly urgently, and here in Rome they tell me that they have to order it in from Japan which will take 20 days!

Any help greatly appreciated, please let me know if you have one anywhere in Europe, I am prepared to courier it in to get things moving!

Thanks very much!

Yes I know a place that will sort you.

Look up www.wunderlich.de. They are a German company who only do XT600 spares. They will mail out next day anywhere. There is a man there called Andreas who speaks english (he sent me some parts to France). I think his own email is Andreas@wunderlich.de. Tell him what you need and he'll send it I'm sure. Thye can find the part numbers for you too. Great service.

Good luck,

Simon

Just to save you some money...

www.kedo.de also sells xt600 parts at aprox half the price of wunderlich...

I know a pair of Yamaha dealers in north-east Italy that still have stock of spare parts, I will ask to Rome friends if they know someone there ...feel free to contact me by mail ...

By the way, is a 1VJ specific part or common to other Yamaha 595 ?

Cabron.
This part is called a gearbox output shaft.
I have more than 20 in stock, new and second-hand.
New 49.79GBP.
S/H 30.00GBP.
Let me know if you need one.
If you are changing this shaft it would be extremely wise to upgrade the whole g/box while it is apart, to avoid the inevitable pitting problems.
Cheers.

thank you to everyone who has kindly replied to my mailing. i managed to find somewhere in the UK that had the part and got it couriered over, but as this is just the start of a long trip, i am sure that i will have use for these contacts again in the near future.

thanks to dave lambeth for the suggestions re the gear box. aware of this problem having read the lengthy thread over the past few weeks, i had the yamaha guys here in rome who seem very on top of things check my gear box out (actually they inspected the entire engine) and they said the gears looked fine. i also took a look at them, and the fifth gear didn't look any different to any of the other gears. maybe i am just lucky, or perhaps my gears have already been replaced, as my bike has done 52000 km (though i only got it with 44k on it). thanks for the advice!
