oxford hot grips

Any one hard wired the grips to an xt600e?....where is the best place to splice into?...cheers

They need to be connected direct to the battery. That's the only method that can carry the current required. If you're worried about leaving them on accidently and flattening the battery then wire them via a relay, which iswhat I did. I picked up the switching feed to the relay from the supply to the brakelight switch. The relay fitted very neatly on top of the air box. In fact I fitted a complete extra fusebox, controlled by the relay, which runs the Hot Grips, cigar lighter socket and some extra front lights I fitted, with a spare fuse left for future use. See pic.

geoff, have just put them on my xt600e and am made up with them, i'm off on a trip to ireland but might follow your wiring tip when i get back.

They're great aren't they Denny? I first came across them when I bought my Triumph Tiger and couldn't imagine life without them now.

Wow ,great wiring job there....I had them hot wired to my blackbird and left them on and it went al terribly wrong, but I like the wiring job so will do that to my xt too.....cheers..
