output shaft thread size
Hello,
Having finally taken my 51k Km engine out of bike yesterday with the need to do the exhaust studs, discovered that the output shaft is also kapput . Now i know why people have posted moans about front sprockets being welded on etc. Anyone happen to know the thread size of the sprocket holding nut??

'Fraid not, but a good hammering with an old (soft) chisel got mine off ok. Anti clockwise is the way off, but a couple of (bloody good) hits the wrong way will help to crack the seal. The day before spray with wd40 or other penetrating spray, put it in first and tie the back wheel up, and keep dousing with penetrator.
Beware of using heat, as this will cook any seals in the vicinity! |
