oil vent hose

I have a 1985 xt 600 and want to know if the oil tank vent hose connects to anything. I did connect it to the vent on top of the cylinder with no problems. I can't figuire out from the manual where it goes. for now i have it pionted down and it oils the chain very well but makes a bad mess of the rear tire. If anybody can check thiers and let me know it would be great

To the airbox

It should connect to the airbox, clean side. There should be a stump that the hose fits on to. On my 55W this stump is located between the two connections to the carb.

There are 2 vent hoses one from the crankcase to the air box and one from the cam cover back to the oil tank

Can anyone post a picture: for 1vj?

Dont have manual, do have the bike, and trying to establish where everything goes"

Out of Air box there are three exit stumps.
The gear side one has a sort of crimped pipe on it 3 inches long.
The brake side pipe goes down to the top of the crankcase (gear side).
... and the middle one doesnt have a pipe! I assume the middle one is the exit, in which case it could be fed to drip on the chain, I like this idea.

Is this correct? would appreciate some pics.

Task for today is to terrorise the sheared exhaust header inserts- Big hammer and heat, dunno where from though
