Oil Vapor Outlets on XT600E
Hi guys,
I have to ask something again. In my engine, there are two oil vapor outlets, one close to the other, one big and one small, under the starter. Are they both connected to some hoses, because the big one, if I'm right, is right under the starter and there is not enough space to put the hose. Moreover, why there are two separate oil vapor outlets? Do they come from different places of the engine? |

I currently have my engine on the bench and as far as I can tell the smaller vent goes into the generator section of the engine and the bigger is in the gearbox.
On older casings the smaller hole is unused (blank). Hope this helps Tom

hoses
The big one is the oil vapor hose, to be connected to the clean side of the air filter. Yamaha's original hose hose fits to it, toght but possible.
The small one is not for oil vapor, but the overflow connection from the oil tank, so should be connected to the top of the oil tank. Auke |
