Oil recommended by Yamaha is
Hi People
TTR600E – Oil recommended by Yamaha is SAE20W40SE or SAE10W30SE Was looking at her today and, well, It needs some. All I’ve got at home is Shell Advance VSX 4 10W40 for my old bike Is this OK to top-up with till I do a change in about 1000km ? Shaun |

The general consensus of opinion for the TT600R/RE is that 10/40 semi synthetic is ok for cool europe, 20/50 for hot countries/ summer. Rock oil is supposed to be O.K. and refined in the UK. I imagine that your bike will probably have 10/40 in it, so topping up with this should be OK.
