1986 XT600 Acerbis Desert Fuel Tank

I just picked up a NOS large capacity Acerbis Desert fuel tank for my 1986 Yamaha XT600. Unfortunately, the tank did not come with any hardware. Does anyone have this tank mounted? I need some help with mounting brackets. Does anyone know how this tank mounts? Can you provide a picture of the mounting bracket so that I can fabricate one for myself? Thanks.

Mounting hardware

I managed to track down a tank with hardware. Here's a few pictures. I'll post the mounted tank once she's back together. Thanks for the help.

XT 600 fuel tanks

Hey Im new to this site. Im having terrible trouble with my beloved 1985 55w tenere. Fixed various issues with it and have it running well now but cant use it. I have corrosion on the lower left of the fuel tank that has been welded 3 times and is now leaking again. I either want it repaired properly so that it will last or I would love to replace the thing for a new one or good 2nd hand one. The problem is I cant find any after market tanks for this frame. This tank was only fitted to 1985 and 86 models and even if I can find a 2nd hand one it will probably be in just as shit a condition as mine. What model were you fitting that long range tank to?? Any pics of it? Who supplied it? Any help is appreciated. Oh I believe the tank from a 34L model may fit mine also but not sure.

There are tanks for your bike on ebay, 34L is the same tank as the 55W, the only difference is the graphics on the 55W they slant backwards where the 34L sit upright.

Here`s one with in Germany right now, its cheap because its black so you would need to paint it & put new graphics on, which are available but getting the correct supplier is important.

But we see them all the time (34L`s mainly) but the odd 55W tank comes along every few months.

ebay.de (germany) is the best place to hunt for them.

Ive got one or two hanging up.

Mezo.

Hi, Snofrog (and others) I'm from Belgium.
I'm trying to mount an Acerbis tank on my old XT600 1986...but I don't find any mounting kit...
You've done a nice job!
May I ask you the measures of your plastic pieces?
Thank you!
