oil leak
I added oil in my 1993 XT600E and it hink i might have overfilled the oil tank. since tehn my bike is leaking oil but i am nto sure from where. when leaving it overnight, i find a few droplets of oil under the bike in the morning and when looking under the bike, i can see that the there is oil under the engine but cant locate the exact position of the leak
anyone can help to locate the leak and how to fix it? many thanks JMR |

the excess oil flows up to air filter, if you open the right side and filter box you will understan the flow. From filter box there is a black rubber pipe going down going out together with carburetor ones

Yep, also (I think I read about this somewhere on this forum???), if you totally wash the bike, dry it and then cover the engine in talcum powder, go for a steady 10 min drive then have a good look over the engine you should locate any oil leaks. This is how I found the oil leak on my bike and I had been searching for bloody ages!!! (I also had oil in the air filter, from over filling.) Hope this helps.
