oil coming out of oil tank
hi, need some help. my 89 3aj has started pushing oil out of the oil tank cap, i have dropped the oil and checked that it wasn't over filled. I'm thinking one of the head gaskets is going and the piston is pressurizing the the engine and pushing the oil back up and out the tank. i have checked the oil and theres no metal fillings so that side is ok and she rides realy good. though when i started her this morning she smoked quite a bit.
10 days till the big ride, not good timing at all. www.horizonsunlimited.com/tstories/patrick/ |

I belive the engine base is vented in to the air box, So thats not likley the trouble. I'd suggest completly draining the oil and refill with the correct measured amount. I over filled my bike before I learned how to check the level properly.
