Question Carbies

G'Day all,

I have recently purchased a 1991 XT600E. I've been told that you can increase performance on these 1991 XTs by simply fitting the mikuni carby set from a 1984 XT600 tenere. Have any of you folks heard of this carby transplant and if so can you give me any more info about it?

ps. Is it possible to get a workshop manual for a 1991 model XT600E? I haven't been able to find one.

Cheers

MadMax

Carbs

I took off the carbs on my 85 xt and threw them into the garbage. I replaced them with a set off of a raptor quad, took only a little bit of doing, WoW what a difference in performance on a whole

W/shop manual

Madmax,
Have a look at:

http://www.xt600.com.br/manuais/fichasXT600E/

..:: Psytronix Team ::.. - Downloads

The engine is much the same as the TT:-
Yamaha's ultimative Enduro

Or you can pay for one:-

: : Motorcycle Microfiche and Manuals on CD-Rom : : Only £11.95ea

There are probably other "free" sites; these are just a few that I have been pointed towards. The bikes are very popular in Germany, so it may be worth learning to read some so that you can get info from their webpages.

Cheers,

Dave

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
