NOS Tenere 34L seat?

I know its a long shot but does anyone have a NOS (or absolutely pristine used) 34L seat for sale (the original red and black).

Can swap for a NOS 55W in the same colour scheme (the longer dual seat set up) and the accompanying rack (also NOS).

Like I said, its a long shot, but if you don't ask…

Cheers
Andy

Thanks!

Oh, and join the queue! (says he with a bodged 55W seat fitted to his 34L and looking very ugly too)

Andy,

Forgive me if it sounds obvious but have you tried Flebay? I know I have seen them on their in the past not NOS but you can also get a new cover in red and black also on Flebay. Probably the easiest solution. Try a few diferent searches i.e. Tenere, XT600, XT 600, 1VJ, 34L, 3AJ etc etc you might be surprised what you can find.

Good luck.

Sam.

34L seat

Hi, don't know about chances of a NOS seat but you can get the seat covers on ebay -Item number: 370093988978, its on my list of things to do.....

Thanks for the replies. I have bought a seat cover from Dave Lambeth, which looks fantastic, but due to my seat base being distorted, it doesn't sit snugly up against the tank as it should.

I have looked at the three other seats in my possession and they all seem to have had the same problem, namely being repaired at the point where the seat goes up the tank.

I'm beginning to think that this is an inherent problem.

Another reason for the desire for NOS is that pretty much everything else on my rebuild is NOS bodywork wise and it would be a perfect finishing touch.

I know it seems excessive but I am hoping to show this one when its done… my old scruffy blue one will continue as my weekend green lane warrior!

Lam,

I got lucky on ebay from a German seller. Although the last time I checked, CMS in Holland still stock them.

Andy, just a thought about the ill fitting seat.

When you fitted the new cover you haven't pulled it a bit tight as this can force the base to distort. A good tip warm the cover before you fit it to the base you then don't need to stretch it so much.

Cheers Sam.

Thanks Sam, but I had the cover professionally fitted and he definitely warmed it through with a hairdryer. The base has cracked along the riser hump and been plastic welded at some point or other, which I guess is where my problems lie

Hmmm… have you got a 34L fiche? They don't show any of the Teneres on there, only the regular XTs, but when I put the part numbers in from my microfiche it showed them as being in stock. Mind you, that was a while ago.

What side do you need or is it both?
