Non Return Valve?

Hi all, Is it possible to get at the valve that stops oil flowing into the crank cases, without stripping or removing the engine? I have searched the clymer manual and cannot find this valve anywhere!. I think this may be the cause of my 3aj,s smoking problem? Any thoughts welcome cheers T

Hi Big T,

If you remove the righ hand side engine case you will see this one way valve in the gasket face of the crank case. I've never tried to test or replace this valve though.

Unfortunatly, on my 3AJ Tenere I had to remove the after market exhaust to allow me to remove the banjo bolt that holds an oil pipe that goes between the top of the crank case and this right hand side engine case!

Good luck

Mark

I had a problem with my 3AJ using oil and smoking. Turned out it was the valve stem seals. Changed em, and end of problem. I think when they get knackered, they act as little pumps - pushing oil into the pot. I was burning a litre of oil every 1000km . hope this helps
