Hello dawack,
Clymer do a manual. It's actually for 1983-1989, but I use it for my '03 model - with a bit of judgement! It's book number is ISBN 0-89287-546-1. Try a search against XT manual and microfiche and you should pick up a couple of links.
Best of luck with the bike.

Yeah, I have a Clymer manual too. The bikes are a bit different now, but like was said above, they are close enough for the Clymer to be useful. When I bought my 2003 second hand the dealer I got it from had sourced a new owners manual from somewhere. It's fairly basic but does have good general servicing information. I expect a Yamaha dealer would be able to get hold of one.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
