New way to check oil level
Being fed up with all the work involved in checking oil level on our Tenere´s (one 55W and one 3AJ) is soldered two hose connections (copper pipe 10 mm) and installed 10 mm ID compressed air hose as sight glasses on the oil tanks.
It did take some goo to make everything more or less leak proof - but checking oil is a breeze now! Only, on the 55W I would, next time, install the sight glass more to the left as it is now exactly positioned where the rear sprocket would hit it going over a really bad bump. Auke

 Had been thinking along the same lines myself, might look for a spare tank and try some experimenting for my own 3aj
