Why is anyone surprised?!?
We're all judging this bike by HUBB standards but seriously, does anyone really think they had overlanders such as HUBB members in mind when they designed it?
We may be disappointed but there are plenty of punters who'll lap it up, the price being the Achilles heal, but then they have a mighty marketing department. If that is the price, I'm sure they have evidence to say ot will sell.
We're a minority market, and I don't think we should be holding our collective breath for a bike from any of the big 4 that will meet all our needs for a RTW bike (new Tenere 660 and possibly the GS800 being the only examples I can think of that come close), so be prepared to keep finding your best compromise and then prepping it to meet your needs.
Adventure: it's an experience, not a style!
(so ride what you like, but ride it somewhere new!)
