More TT600RE Questions

I saw two of these at the UK meeting and was quite impressed - I think they'd make a modern day Tenere with a big tank and a few other small mods.

Can any TT600RE owners or others see any flaws in this plan?

Is a rejet or any other 'must-do' mod required from new?

Are there any significant problems or weak points with this model?

Is the motor the same as an XT600E or is it tuned differently?

Does the exhaust have a catalytic converter?

Is the suspension adequate (I travel very light) or is an upgrade recommended?

Are a factory workshop manual and parts book available? I recognise they might be expensive but in my experience they're useful.

Thanks,

Ian.

yes! you can fit a 20l acerbis tank and cruise happily for about390 km before worrying about fuel.
it is jetted very lean from the factory, so i have installed a 158 main jet and desnorklified the airbox, but it still feels a bit restricted so a new leo vince FIM "slip on" is on its way.
The only weakness i am aware of is the dreaded fifth gear breakage.
No cat in the exhaust just a bunch of very restrictive baffles.
Suspension is good Paioli 46mm forks and sachs rear shock.

hope this is of any help * Lar*

Thanks.

One more question: does anyone know of an off-the-shelf rally bracket for the TT600RE for mounting my roadbook and IMO?

www.offtheroad.de sell all that rally type stuff and specialise in ttr's. I have a 2001 TT600R and love it, big tank rack and ally boxes etc etc. Mine has Ohlins rear shock though (cost trade-off for the magic button I guess!).
