Help... XT600E rims

Hi all... Could anyone tell me the sizes of the rims and number of holes?

front is 21" x 1,85 but how many holes?
Same for the rear wheel... I only remember its a 17", what size and how many holes?

I'm thinking of getting some Excel rims for my 1990 XT600E but I need to be sure before buying something that won't fit

Thanks.

Vando

36 spokes front and rear.
Rear rim is 2.5 wide.
If getting some Excel rims would be a good idea to get wider rims for a few quid more to take more modern rubber.
Up to 3.5 front and 5.0 rear assuming you want to supermoto it?
or I think a 3.5 rear would look nice if sticking with off road tyres, but a 2.0 would be the biggest you would want in 21" front wheel.

Strat.

Hi Strat.... actually I'm looking to put some Excel rims because my stock rims and spokes are very rusty..

As for the width I'll probably keep the same sizes because I want any problems with the cops and on the MOT inspection.. (they are very restrictive here in Portugal about any mods) BUT I'm gonna get better informed on tire prices and how much would it cost to homologate any changes made on the bike so I can avoid any problems...

I live in an island called Santa Maria and most roads aren't suitable for street bikes or Supermotard bikes (they are mostly dirt and gravel roads)..

Thanks a lot for the input!

Oh..and in the near future - hopefully before this Christmas or next summer - I'll get a MX front end to fit on my bike...

I was thinking..since I'll get a front rim for that MX front end... I'd get a compatible rim (same sizes and same amount of holes) that will fit my XT and which I'll only have to lace them on the MX hub when I get the MX front end..
