Luggage rack info needed

I have a 90 xt600 and I'm looking to add some luggage racks/panniers/softbags. From what I have found many people are making them at home. Does anyone have any photos and or plans? How about after market stuff? What companies etc? I'm looking for all ideas hard or soft so fire away. Thanks!

In the US you can buy panniers from www.moto-sportpanniers.com or www.adventure-motorcycle.com to fit racks.

For racks try......

www.metalmule.com
www.kedo.de
www.sw-motech.de

Touratech may have racks to fit.

You can buy pannier frames and weld on the neccesary fixings for your bike if needed.

Motorcycle Luggage

There are quite some posts on this topic already, so just once again the place where I got my Hepco & Becker stuff with rack and so on

http://www.mml-motorradzubehoer.de/MML-Onlineshop-2006-022/

As I mentioned before , I am/was very pleased with their service, quality of product as well as price and shipment (to Japan, I have to stress!!).

Just check out the homepage, lots of different equipment to find. And once again, I am NOT connected to this company!!!

Safe riding

Thanks guys. Anyone have any other info? Please post. I'm starting to thin about using ammo cans but I guess I'll keep researching.

Not many USA options as this bike was not sold very long here; the previous German option might be good. Check out what the UK "Wrong Way 'Round" guys used: http://www.wrongwayround.com/gear_panniers.htm

Twisted Throttle (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/) carries SW-MOTEC stuff for the XT600

Touratech (http://www.touratech-usa.com/) also has a rack for the XT600

See the Bike Tech link on the left - there is a homemade pannier section there.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
