looking for 3AJ wiring diagram
 

Hi all,

Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram for a 1990 Xt600Z 3AJ Tenere?

Or explain how the ignition switch operates, especially the mechanism for stopping the engine, it being CDI and not dependant on a connection to the battery?

If the black / white wire from the CDI is earthed the engine is stopped, at least that's how it was with the older Tenere's.
With the 3AJ there's all kind of safeties, being the clutch switch, the sidestand switch, neutral switch. If you switch on the ignition and all switches are in the correct position, the relay under the seat is enabled, which means you can use the electric starter and the engine will fire.
Now, if you have removed all this sh*t, the B/W wire theory works, if you have not, I am not sure.
