Leaking Front Master Brake Cylinder

i've searched this forum to try and answer this question--must be on here somewhere--so i guess my search skills are ancient. Anyways, on my 4PT the brake fluid in the front master cylinder is leaking faster than my bank account:stormy:.

There's a line of fluid right around the seal between the cap and the cylinder, and a lovely droplet where the braided brake line connects to the brake cylinder. One ride and it's 1/2 empty.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Mike

hi there the mating surface of the cap and cylinder are prone to aluminum corrotion .try positioning the cylinder so cap is horizontal, place a rag around the cylinder to catch any leaking fluid. take of cap and remove rubber seal /bellow ,look at the mating suface, you will see any corrotion if it is there. if it is carefully scrape it off until the surface is clean ,dont drop any in to the cylinder . look at the rubber seal if the sealing edge is iffy get a new one. be very carefull not to dig in or gouge the surface. it would be good to bleed the system of the old fluid and refill with new fluid to get rid of any mosture /gunge . dont take any chances with brakes if you are not sure get some one to check it for you take care zigzag:thumbup1:
