Known problems with a 1993 XT600?

I'm in Colombia looking into buying a 1993 XT600 with 60.000km. It seems to be in pretty good condition.

I've seen various years and makes from 1992 to 2004. Up until 2000 all the XT600s in Colombia were imported from Japan, and after 2000 they were assembled here in Colombia. It seems the 1992/3 models have the clutch cable entering on the left side, has this produced any problems over the years?

My real question is whether or not the 1993 models have any known problems? And is there usually a lot of maintenance needed after 60.000km that is particular to this model?

Thanks.

no problem

Hi,

I don“t know any problems from XT 600 s of this years.

But of course by this mileage, it would be wise to change piston, timing chain, valve seals and maybe the oilpump. Than the next 60000 km should be not a problem, maybe the gearbox will not last for another 60000 km.

If you want problems buy something else :-)

regards

Thomas
