That is a good idea. Another forum for an RZ350 has just launched a Tech Tips area. This is for posting "How To's" only, no comments allowed. That particular forum has many very good helpful hints etc. scattered throughout but can be hard to find later. Now they are populating the Tech Tip's area with all these tid bits of wisdom. Much appreciated and needed. Could do the same here. They assigned one very knowledgeable person to monitor this so the comments etc can be weeded out. Not sure if this site will do that. It really should be controlled so it doesn't fill up with "Didn't work for me" or "this way is better", etc....

Here is a bit of the opening

"Welcome to Tech-Tips.

What is worthy of being included here? Well, most things technical I would think. Do you know a way of doing a particular task that is easier/faster than the manual suggests? Tell us about it. Do you know of an error in the manual? Point it out so others are aware."

Yes i agree, DIY is not ment to be a place for long discussion. A manual is ok, but a DIY can be much better. Today i have been replacing the O rings on the rocker shaft, and when iam ready to put the bolts down on the cover the one that goes trough the shaft wont fit.. Just to know that you have to put the bolt in and adjust the shaft before you put cover back can save you alot of trouble. There is always small tips and tricks when repairing, in a big forum like this it will be hard to find.

I do not think it is a good idea at all
The reason being the great diversity of make and model in the forums
If I want to know abt the K bike I go to I BMW K forums there are thousands of posts on everything from rebuilds to you name it
So if you want to know abt a certain model Yammy, you go to a Yamaha site

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
