how to tell if cam chain is worn on 1983 xt 550
Hello i am having a problem with a ticking noise at idel ive been told by members here it might be cam chain how can i check if its worn (strechted) If i take the spring out of tensioner it goes in more then half way before it even starts to get tension.

well, The cam chain of my 1990 XT600E broke with about 30'000km (less than 20'000miles)
