How much is a new rear spring for the XT600

hello all..

Im new here. Well, iv read a lot but only just registered.

Well, Iv been riding around Europe on my XT600E but the back feels too soggy. There is just too much weight on the bike for the pre-load to cope.

Im after a new stiffer rear spring for the rear. How much do these cost and where can I get one???

£30, £40, £50 , £100 ???

Im on a tight budget so I have to be careful.

Thankyou in advance.

Jon

I sent my shock to David lambeth and he fitted a 550 rear spring to my original shock for £85. He did insist on keeping the old spring though

I havnt got it back yet so dont know how it fares

PM me if you want his email address.

Sounds expensive. Last time I priced a spring for a bike (not an XT) it was £45.

£85 seems a lot especially as hes keeping your old one.. Can you PM me with his address and I will ask.

PM sent !

£45

I have never priced one up before so I hope I havnt been ripped off I was wondering why he kept the old one but I wasnt really bothered as I wont be using it again.

I sent him my shock as he said he wont charge for him to change the spring. Iv got a spring compressor but iv lent it to a friend who still hasnt returned it and now hes away

Hiya,

Can I resurrect this old thread with the same question -

Where to get an uprated rear spring, and how much to pay?

Is it hard to change yourself?

Cheers!
