"How I prepped my XT600E" website

I made a page on my website detailing how I prepped my bike and where I got the parts from.

By no means a definative guide and im not claiming its the best or only way to do it, but it maybe helpful to newbies or people trying to source bits and pieces.

Link here.... Touring Ted ยป Preparing the bike

I would appreciate feedback, good or bad !

Thanks

Nice work Ted, your site is very helpful just what people need. Its great to be able to use technology to our advantage. :clap:Years ago I prepped my CCM 604 e and learnt by my mistakes. I totally overloaded the bike and when i took it off its home made centre stand it bellyed out. I had to rip bits off it to save the suspension. The desert tank i fitted caused the carb to overflow because of the pressure. I hope to get my brothers XT off him soon well as soon as my BMW sells.

This information is useless!!!!!!! because we can't get the XTs here in the US!!!

Just kidding!

Nice job with the website, thanks for sharing.

and if you ever go to Argentina, watch out for those cordobeses, they are very "boludos".... hahahaha

I feel bad for you guys in the US.. its crazy that you get such a bad deal with overland bikes.

Ted - kudos on your new site!

It just seems like Yamaha has not figured out the USA market. The 1990-1995 XT600E that they imported here was every bit as good as the Kawasaki KLR650 or Suzuki DR650 (still imported here), except for price. Now they are importing the new WR250X at $6000 USD and Yamaha seems confused as to what type of bike it is (according to their Web site). You can get a new Kaw KLR650 or (almost) a new Suz DL650 for that $$$. Yes, fuel injection, liquid cooling and USD forks are nice - but at that price?

It's just too bad for us rare XT600E owners that there is not a more direct marketing link to all the accessories and aftermarket parts available in Europe.:confused1:
