Help locating 34L tank in Italy????

Hello All,

I have just finished a complete mechanical refurb on my cherished XT600 43F. Only 250km on the clock but all is going well. I have been lusting after the original 34L/55w fuel tanks for years and think one would be an excellent addition to finish off my machine.

Here in north america the Tenere bikes were never offered, just the small tank basic xt's so no Tenere tanks available here.

I'll be in Italy the week of Sept. 4-11 for a quick work/vacation. Cities I'll be visiting are Verona and Rome.

Parts I'm interested in are tank, seat, sidepanels. The tank is the only essential thing the rest can be bodged up to fit.

So:
Are there any Italian members out there that might have some dusty old Tenere bits on the shelf that they could part with?
Or:
Could any members point me in the direction of a reputable bike breaker in either Rome or Verona that might have these parts?

I know this project is a long shot. But unless I ask, I'll never know.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice in sorting this out.

Safe riding,

Pawlie

having the same bike (34L) and hating my tank size, I'm VERY interested in a tenere tank to fit mine. if you find a breaker with several in stock, please let me know, for me, that would be well worth buying.

Hi Bob,

I will indeed let you know if I turn up any goodies! Just need an Italian XTpert to point me in the right direction.

Ciao,

Pawlie

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
