header pipe nut
 

while trying to loosen the header pipe nut on my tt600re i broke the treaded bolt. Will the remains of the bolt screw out from the engine or do i cut it shorter and try to join anew piece on with a nut. will driving with one nut broke off do harm to the engine.

Broken stud
 

Mmmm, If you can weld a nut on the broken stud, wait till it cools down (not red) you will easily remove as the aluminium head will expand more than the steel stud. This method I used on a broken head stud and it came out real easy. Good luck.

I removed my exhasut sometime, I soaked it in wd40 in the days up to the stripdown, and the nuts went of no problems. and that was with a header with rusted trough mounts.

That, and a good grease with cobberpaste (whats it called) when you mount it again.

Just for anyone that wanna do the job in the future.
