I have Yamaha XT 600 E - 2001 year,blue color.I would like to change my black factory hand-protectors in blue,like this one on the picture.
Can anybody do me a favour and find it for me.I live in Serbia and it is impossible to find it here.

Milinka, I think you will find that changing the hand guards means taking off the bar end weights - which allows vibration (and tingling hands!)

I tried to do the exact same thing - didn't like the OEM "black flag" deflectors' look. Got some used Acerbis guards, sanded them down, and painted them blue with the new Krylon Fusion plastic paint. Then I find that the handlebars have the inserted bar weights so I can't use the Acerbis mounting system. The weights look like they are permanently fixed in place. I'm not sure if I want to replace the handlebar with one from a KLR650 to use the Acerbis guards or just stick with the OEMs. As a temporary change, you could paint the OEM guards with either the Krylon Fusion spray paint use a plastic adhesion-promoter primer and an automotive blue spray paint.

I had exactly the same problem, I couldn't fit the Acerbis Rally Pros because of the threaded ends of the handle bar but then I just sawed the 11mm thread off each side (the thread is only 11mm deep on mine) and I could fit the original Acerbis RAWLs.
I just ended up with an overall 2.2cm shorter handle bar but if you consider that the Acerbis are almost 1cm thick (each), your handlebar is going to be just a few mm shorter after all.
The first thing that came in mind was to find a bolt of the same thread of the handlebar but this way I would have to make the hole in the handbrush wider compromising its strentgh which I didn't like, also the original fitting has a dent that prevents the protection to rotate in case of a crash.

Just one note: before start sawing just make sure you can move all the bits (brake reservoir etc.) 1cm further in meaning you need to have at least 1/1.5 cm clear before the handlebar starts to bend.

Maybe the newer versions (or the ones shipped to the USA) are different but my '94 has welded-in weights about 5mm in from the end of the handlebars. I might try drilling a hole in the weight and tapping a thread in it for the Acerbis bolt, but I don't know how solid the weight is.

I am having a problem with finding hand guards for my XT 600 too. The Acerbis ones would not fit on the default handlebar, which I wouldn't like to change for now. I can remove the endings of the handlebar and fit the mounting system of the Acerbis hand protectors (the aluminium ones) but the other part that should fit on the handlebar is right where the handlebar has that horizontal bar and .... I can't fit them.

Does anyone know of any handguards that will fit the XT 600 without major customizations?

P.S.: do you know of a dealer of XT 600 E 2001 parts in US? I couldn't find one ...

Hi. I doubt there will be a Yamaha dealer with parts for the 2001 XT600E because of something I've read somewhere, they stopped shipping the XT600E... I could've been misled but check with a Yamaha dealer there... I only know these two online dealers: Yamaha of Troy and Yamaha Parts and Accessories - 20% Discount on Yamaha OEM Parts, 10% Discount on Suzuki Parts give them a call and find out
