gunk around spark plug

I have an 83 model Tenere (34L). On the weekend I was changing the spark plug and it wasn't until I had removed the plug that I noticed there was sandy gunk around the base of the plug. In retrospect I should have blown compressed air in the spark plug cavity to clean any muck out. Anyway I installed a new plug and fear some dirt/gunk may have fallen into the combustion chamber. What I want to know is will this sand be expelled out the exhaust pipe on the exhaust stroke or is it likely to sit around the rings and grind out the bore lining. I don't think much fell sand fell in, maybe a 1/6 of a teaspoon. Any response appreciated particularly that of Klaus.

if you are lucky, the dirt will be blown out.
if not, parts will remain between piston/pistonrings and cylinder.
which will cause scratches and will lead to higher oil consumption.
what you can do is to remove carb, spark plug and dismount exhaust pipe, then kick-start for at least 30 times.

The best way is to dismount all...:-( but you can follow Klaus advice and also try to "wash out" the dirt : block intake from carburettor with a clan rag , fill from the spark plug with gasoline ... and kick several times , repeat steps... works also with flooded engines.

After adding fuel into the cylinder via the spark plug hole, do you re-install the spark plug or is that where the mixture of fuel and dirt is mean to come out from?. Do you need to block off the intake to prevent the mixture from flowing back through the intake valve and into the intake manifold/carburetor?

You have to dismount the exausts , so dirt gasoline will come out from exaust valves ...better to block intake so to don't need to clean the carburettors ...
