Givi luggage rack

Hi everyone,

I know a lot of you have been looking for a luggage rack.
I spotted this one on ebay and thought you might be interested,it's not a bad price, but it looks to me like it fits around the tank and not on the back,
Anyway if you're interested look here.

Instead of original Givi rack it looks like a Five Stars tube rack. I had a FS rack on my DR800 and it was a bit fragile for off-road use (well... let's say "a bit fragile even for normal use").

Givi offers WingRack + adapter for 3AJ and Hepco & Becker offers more robust tube racks for XT's.

I know this is not on this topic but I'm keen to hear from prople who have used Five Star products..

I am looking at getting their Engine Bars for my XTZ and wondered had anyone used their enigine bars or other stuff like Heikki?

Do they have a good or bad reputation? Do they have a web site etc?

Cheers, Tony.

Tony,

I think you will find Five Star are JF Motorsport (see http://www.jfmotorsport.de/navigator/index.php3 and note the symbol in the top corner).

I have their Centre Stand on my 3AJ, and very happy with it, although it took some time to manufacturer (my order was batched up, I think). They do not post outside of Germany, and I went through Rider Haus (see http://www.riderhaus.com/ - they were very helpful).

Fyi, I have just got hold of the Riky Cross engine bars (not fitted yet), and I do not believe JF Motorsport do them for the 3AJ, although appear to still do them for the XT660, etc.....

Geoff

** Further comment - I have just reread Heikki's comment. I have Hepco & Becker engine bars on my other bike and can confirm they are a top product - Like comparing a Rolls Royce accessary to a Mondeo one perhaps? They are strong and very well made - thicker gauge tubing? **

Trouble with my DR800's Five Stars luggage racks was that the supporting bars that attach racks to passenger's pegs (hope you got the picture; English isn't my native language... ) were too weak / welding wasn't up-to-date so snapped them broke on both sides. Hepco & Becker uses thicker tube (actually twin-tube) and should be more robust.

I have Hepco's engine bars and luggage racks in my 3AJ; fitted w/o any trouble (well a couple of bolts were too short...) and look strong enough for normal use.

Still have also some Five Stars products, though: just bolted on their center stand kit and am very pleased with it (and, like Geoff, I used services of RiderHaus and yes, it took a couple of months to get the package from the ordering date).
