free money!

Now I,ve got your attention I,ll ask my question. I,m trying to buy a spare alternator stator for a 1986 tenere 1VJ. Looking at the (unreliable) manual mine has a 4 bolt fixing but a supplier tried to sell me one with a 3 bolt fixing. Apparently there are two types available. I don,t want to take mine off as I,ll have to drain the oil etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After pulling mine apart a few times in the last 2 days ,I have a 3 screw/bolt setup,so I'd imagine yours should be the same being the same bike.
You don't really need to drain the oil, just lean the bike against a wall or even lay it down on it's right hand side. You do get a bit come out,but nothing to be worried about.
