Fitting a Kickstart to 3AJ

I have translated the excellent guide on XT600.de, and have all the parts from an extremely helpful Ebay seller in Germany. Looking forward to this fairly simple conversion, but can I ask for a piece of advice?

How do you get the Plug/Blank out of the cylinder head for the Decompression Level? I have removed the valve cover & locking screw.

Thank you in anticipation of your help. Geoff
