Engine Numbers/Dating
My engine number is a 3TB..... number but on the head by the capacity imprint it says 3AJ? Is this usual? mean anything significant?
Im trying to date this engine and maybe trace its history - where originally imported etc... |

I can only go by what the manual says -- (not sure about 'capacity imprint' info)
Sooo.. You should be able to identify the model, by the FRAME SN, which is stamped on the right side of the steering head. And the Engine SN, which is stamped on the 'elevated part of the right rear section of the engine'. These should be the same (first three digits), and this will give you the model /year |

I think all XTs after about 88-89 use a cylinder( barrel) from the 3AJ the cylinder head will have 2KF

Its a 3TB engine number. Frame number unknown, its in my SRX frame after buying from a crashed XT600E.
On the left side of the cylinder head at the bottom is th cubic capacity (595cm3) preceded by 3AJ... |
