Talking Sidecar on a dirt bike

Check out www.klr650.com for a ural on a 650 kaw. i know the guy who is developing this rig. maybe they make a left hand drive. I have made my own rigs but laws here are a bit looser than there. I had a great time riding one to the arctic circle in canada. Everyone will think you are a bit crazy but sidecars are great fun and practical.

Trials sidecar

Thanks for the reply Bill. Just the kind of inspiration I was looking for. The KLR looks fun. I have seen many trials sidecars here in UK, and this is the type of lightweight sidecar I am after but so far am unable to track down a source. Anyone out there know where they come from. I am in Yorkshire so there is sure to be some supplier near-by

Here's one on the wrong side:

French ebay item number: 4626529032

You might want to have look at these sites for inspiration:

Theer are sidecar clubs a-plenty in the UK. Do some searching. They will be only too pleased to help you out.

Trials sidecar

Someone out there knows who manufactures trials sidecars. I have sought but not found.
I'm also thinking that trials equipment is continuously being improved therfore
there must be no end of out-dated chairs lying around. Prove me right.
Maybe I should go to a local vintage trials event.

I know a company in Holland that builds sidecars in various types and sizes.
http://www.emlsidecar.com/starteng.htm

They have dealers in a lot of countries so maybe they can help you.

Remember to post some pictures here when you are ready !!

I've just picked up an old farm sidecar for $20,cheap enough to see if I can adapt it to the XT.I've had a few sidecars before,I want to make this one to take an active participating passenger - so I can take my boys out on gravel roads and ride WITH them. They'll have to stand up and work for their fun.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
