Hi All

or as we say down here, "Hi All Y'all"

I've had XT's since the 76 XT500C came to the US, kept that one (1E6) until 1993 when the ex "disappeared it".

I now have a 1995 XT600E (transplanted into a 1990 frame when I found prior owner wreck damage).

Anyway, I'm interested in sourcing parts and bits from other countries where the XT is still around in greater numbers than the US and I see lots of references to 3AJ, 3TB etc etc.

Figuring this is the beginning of the VIN, I looked mine up on the insurance company's site and find that mine is JYA3UYE02LA######.

So looking for luggage racks, bag fitments and other stuff, what is the non-US model that is closest to my current bike?

thanks in advance,

Ron

PS Oh yeah, how can I use a custom avatar like I use on advrider.com?

My chassis number is also a 3UY manufactured in 1993. So it should be a 3TB model 1990-1994 but don't really know model code for which country. Check out http://www.xt600.de/xt_stammbaum/index.shtml (in German) or http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ighlight=model (info by Klaus for German models). Cheers.

Hi mate,
You have to be a contributing member for the heady heights of custom avatar ownership! In that case you can just go into 'user options' and 'edit avatar'.

I'm very interested in this as well, as I recently (Aug '06) purchased a low mileage 1990 XT600. It is a little discouraging that there is virtually no aftermarket support here in the US, I'd be interested to see what would possibly be available from abroad.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
