Decompression cable

Does anybody know the part no. for the decompression cable on a 2001 TT600R kick start. I have a copy of the micro-fiche but this number is completely blurred and unreadable. It is a different length to an XT cable due to the routing.

You should be able to use the cable off either the XT550 or XT600, motor basically the same.

I'm not sure the above information is right. I have fitted a decompression cable (+ kickstart) to my 3AJ Tenere and all the parts came from a 1VJ. The route between the kickstart bulge and the clutch bulge was too narrow for the 1VJ outer cable end. I bought a later TT decompression cable and it is slimmer.

Sorry to contradict, but I think you may well find the outer cable end from a XT550, etc..., too broad to fit to your 2001 TT.

Best to contact your local Yamaha dealer to be sure. My local Yamaha dealer, Lamba, have been very helpful checking their fiche, and also independantly Motoward have helped me with fiche details for Yamaha parts.

Ciao, Geoff
