death of my xtz
 

today was a sad day, i was stopped at traffic lights in the centre of sydney stopped behind a large semi trailer hauling about 20 tons of rock, before i knew what was happening the truck started to reverse into me....
i tried screaming and sounding my horn but he didnt hear me,,, nor could i move quick enough and slowly my front wheel got swallowed by his back wheel .. i had to bail off the bike,, and ran to the window of the truck bashing on the glass untill he stopped.... when i returned to my bike it was firmly wedged under the rear two wheels of the rig.... flat and dead.......

i had ridden this bike from london to nepal in 2004 and was very attached to my ever faithfull old girl....

"sooty" never once broke down the entire time i owned her and will be sadly missed. may she rest in pieces.

now i have to convince the insurance company that this bike had been highly modified, and was anything but a standard machine....

i will let you know how i get on..........phil.........(very sad)

Jeebus good thing you werent hurt! Shame about your bike :(
Hope the insurance makes up for it . The upside is that you get to shop around for a replacement bike

In turkish we say 'Gec mis olson' which means May your pain pass easily.
It will be hard for you to replace your Old Friend. Sorry to hear of your loss.
