Hi, I also need to register the bike in this country does anyone know how I can get a certificate proving the age of the bike? Thanks.

Don't you have the registration of the bike? it should be stated date of the first license or something like that.. or go to a Yamaha dealer and ask...

When I needed to date an old Honda XR to register it (it was imported from SA as an off-road bike), I wrote to Honda UK enclosing a "search fee". After a couple of weeks I recieved a letter stating the bike's year of manufacture.

Maybe Yamaha would do the same.

try this...isle of wight vintage motor cycle club
costs £25 i think
