Hi can anyone help, i have a crack in my barrel and am leaking oil badly, dose any one know if it is possable to get this welded up, the crack is on the clutch side of the barrel and is between the second and third cooling fins just above the nuts that hold the barrel in place, ive never had a barrel crack before and am not to sure how this has happened this time any one else had it happen. Iám in Lima Peru at the moment, any one know of a good workshop around here.

What bike is it? Is there a cam chain area behind the crack? have you tried epoxy on the outside to controll the oil leak. I have ridden thousands of miles with epoxy keeping most of the oil in the motor. I have also ridden with nylon gaiters that I had to take off before I went in any buisness because the gaiters were soaked with oil from oil leaks.

The bikes an 86 Tenere the crack is on the opposite side to the cam chain, i did try to stem the flow of oil by putting JB weld in the crack but it just seeped out past it, i lost 3 litres of oil riding the 400ks to Lima, iám now stuck here for the time being, iám hoping to find another barrel that i could put my liner in.
